Attracting attention during this summer and fall with her remarkable debut album Don’t Let The Kids Win, Julia Jacklin will play her first full band concert in Denmark at Frost Festival. We are proud to present a spectacular debut show for the Australian songstress, beneath the star-studded firmament of Koncertkirken.
Hailing from the Australian Blue Mountains, Julia Jacklin’s music courses with the aching current of alt-country and indie-folk, augmented by her undeniable calling cards: her rich, distinctive voice, and her playful, observational wit.
This fall she released her debut album Don’t Let The Kids Win. Rich, with sharp observations and sincere statements on changes of friendship circles, raising awareness of one’s own identity and choices of growing into full-fletched person, the album is an intimate examination of a mid-twenty’s life. The experience reflected in these songs is conveyed with Jacklin’s unmistakable turns of phrase, walking a fine line between frankly reported observations and heartfelt interpretations, establishing her as one of the important new voices to watch.
