On Sunday, February 21st, Steffen Westmark of The Blue Van will be guesting Frost Festival, as he presents material from the band’s back-catalogue in a pared back Frost Bites session.
With The Blue Van, Steffen Westmark released six albums and has toured globally. The Blue Van is first and foremost known for their immense releases of energy, both live and in recordings. Taking their cues from a classic American rock tradition – full of pumping drum lines, furious bass riffs and sweat-dripping performances – The Blue Van is generally associated with a good time on the dance floor.
For Frost Bites, Steffen Westmark is kicking off his dance shoes and taking a softer approach. The audience will experience alternative versions of well-known The Blue Van tracks, as well as be treated to material that never made it out of the studio.
In this way, the select Frost Bites audience will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at The Blue Van, guided by Steffen Westmark in the most intimate of evenings.
Hosting and attending Frost Bites
In collaboration with Tuborg Musik, we give you the unique opportunity of hosting an intimate concert with some of Denmark’s most interesting musicians – in your home, your place of work or another venue you have access to. These concerts will be small and very intimate, limited to approximately 30 guests. No tickets are sold, attendance is won through answering questions on each event page.
If you want to be a host, upload a video of your venue by clicking on the submission link, or upload a picture and a description marked by the hashtag #frostbites16 on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The only requirements for the venue are: it has to have a capacity for approximately 30 people and be situated in the Copenhagen area.
We are looking for all kinds of alternative places for these concerts. This means if you have a great space that you think could facilitate a Frost Bites event – your apartment, your company office, your parking lot, etc. – we want to hear from you. We are looking for all kinds of creative input, so don’t limit yourself.
Frost Festival will of course handle everything practical and guide you through the process of hosting the concert.
The deadline for venue submission is January 29nd at 12’o clock.
