On Monday, February 15th, Frost Bites has the pleasure of presenting Danish solo artist Nikolaj Nørlund with members of Copenhagen Phil, for an exclusive preview of their musical collaboration.
The result of this collaboration is the album ViLLA, to be released on February 20th. The same day, Nikolaj Nørlund and the entire Copenhagen Philharmonic string orchestra will be giving a concert in the concert hall of the Royal Danish Academy of Music, at part of the 60 Minutes festival. All material has been created specifically for this project, ensuring that both lyric and composition is tailored to facilitate both partners, and the musical opportunities afforded by an entire orchestra. The first single from the upcoming album already promises a particularly powerful collaboration.
Nikolaj Nørlund will be guesting Frost Bites with pianist Adi Zukanovic and a quartet from Copenhagen Phil. This affords the audience an opportunity to experience the very first taste of a unique collaboration live before anywhere else.
Hosting and attending Frost Bites
In collaboration with Tuborg Musik, we give you the unique opportunity of hosting an intimate concert with some of Denmark’s most interesting musicians – in your home, your place of work or another venue you have access to. These concerts will be small and very intimate, limited to approximately 30 guests. No tickets are sold, attendance is won through answering questions on each event page.
If you want to be a host, upload a video of your venue by clicking on the submission link, or upload a picture and a description marked by the hashtag #frostbites16 on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The only requirements for the venue are: it has to have a capacity for approximately 30 people and be situated in the Copenhagen area.
We are looking for all kinds of alternative places for these concerts. This means if you have a great space that you think could facilitate a Frost Bites event – your apartment, your company office, your parking lot, etc. – we want to hear from you. We are looking for all kinds of creative input, so don’t limit yourself.
Frost Festival will of course handle everything practical and guide you through the process of hosting the concert.
The deadline for venue submission is January 29nd at 12’o clock.
