Monday February 8th sees the first Frost Bites event of 2016. For this occasion, a select audience is invited along to an intimate show with Danish songstress Katinka – an artist who values closeness and a sincere narrative above all else.
Katinka’s debut EP ‘i Røntgen’ established her as a rising star on the Danish music scene. The inspiration for the album’s lyrics stems from Katinka’s own life, and positions listeners in a privileged zone – as if they were reading from her private diary.
With her alternative pop music Katinka draws listeners out, bringing them along on an adventure where trivial everyday impressions are transformed into soaring thought-experiments. Live, Katinka performs her songs with Simon Ask, Marie Christiansen, and Lucas Rundblad, who accompany the Danish lyrics with a wide variety of instruments and objects ranging from vacuum cleaners to pots and pans. This playful approach to musical innovation ensures a unique brand of energy for every single show.
Now you can get up-close and personal with the energetic young artist, as Katinka plays Frost Bites 2016.
Hosting and attending Frost Bites
In collaboration with Tuborg Musik, we give you the unique opportunity of hosting an intimate concert with some of Denmark’s most interesting musicians – in your home, your place of work or another venue you have access to. These concerts will be small and very intimate, limited to approximately 30 guests. No tickets are sold, attendance is won through answering questions on each event page.
If you want to be a host, upload a video of your venue by clicking on the submission link, or upload a picture and a description marked by the hashtag #frostbites16 on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The only requirements for the venue are: it has to have a capacity for approximately 30 people and be situated in the Copenhagen area.
We are looking for all kinds of alternative places for these concerts. This means if you have a great space that you think could facilitate a Frost Bites event – your apartment, your company office, your parking lot, etc. – we want to hear from you. We are looking for all kinds of creative input, so don’t limit yourself.
Frost Festival will of course handle everything practical and guide you through the process of hosting the concert.
The deadline for venue submission is January 29nd at 12’o clock.
