It is the first time that British neo-soul artist and rising star Kindness puts his feet on Danish ground. Frost warmly welcomes Kindness – also known as Adam Bainbridge – to the festival.
Kindness recently released his second album, ‘Otherness’, to great critical acclaim worldwide. On the new album Kindness explores new and soul-filled musical landscapes and experiments with samples and compositions based on afro-beat roots. As an artist he has created a unique contribution to the neo-soul scene and stands out in his own rights.
The album, ’Otherness’ is recorded in cities across the globe in collaboration with brilliant artists as Kelela, Robyn and Dev Hynes of Blood Orange. On stage in Pumpehuset, Copenhagen Adam Bainbridge will bring his band to realize the vision he created while recording in studio.
“I want to give people another choice,” Adam Bainbridge explains. “There’s a lot of great, direct contemporary-sounding pop music to choose from, but even the most mainstream of mainstream audiences might also want something that sounds different from time to time. I still love and appreciate pop music, but I’m happy to leave the people making it to get on with their thing. My motivation is: What do I feel I can do better than anyone else?’ I hope I’ve made that record.”
Supporting act is Saint Cava. Behind Saint Cava is producer Andreas Waze and singer Ericka Caiser Ramos Lizardo. The duo is creating dark and experimental R&B and is one of the new Danish acts that we expect much from. Saint Cava is label mates with successful Danish artists, S!vas and Ukendt Kunstner, and has recently released their first and stunning single ‘Forget’.
