Longing for the summer breeze, drinks and palm trees? Don’t worry, help is near! We have invited Norwegian artist Erlend Øye (known from Kings of Convenience and The Whitest Boy Alive) to bring that warm summer feeling, when he plays an exclusive concert for a small audience for FROST 2014. Erlend Øye will play some of his new solo material on the bottom of an empty pool, located in the beautiful, closed down public swimming pool, Hollænderhallen, in the Copenhagen suburb Dragør.
The combination of white tiles, the high and beautiful wooden ceiling and Erlend Øye’s relaxed and catchy pop songs will create the feeling of a winter pool party. Well, you will have to keep your coat on, but the atmosphere will be casual, cool and colorful.
“We fell in love with the empty swimming pool and the thought of creating a pool party at the bottom of the pool came to us instantly. And, if we should think of one person who is able to melt every bit of winter sadness with his voice and charming personality, it has to be Erlend Øye. Moreover, he moved to Sicily and his new solo material is as sunny and tasteful as an Italian tomato. I can’t wait to jump in the pool with Erlend Øye!” says festival director Mikael Pass.
To complete the evening, we have teamed up with our main sponsor, Royal Beer, and, as an extra ‘treat’ for the audience, we provide complimentary shuttle bus service to and from Hollænderhallen with liquid refreshments to the passengers along the way.
Note that the swimming pool is placed in an old building and will not be heated. Bring lots of warm clothes and sensible shoes, as the the old swimming pool tiles get very slippery if they get wet.
People with tickets including transportation arrive 20.15 at Bremen Teater (Nyropsgade 39, 1602 Kbh V), busses leave at 20.30
Concert starts 21.45
