FROST shares a special bond with the Danish band Indians. On of the reasons is that Indians gave their first concert ever at FROST back in 2012. The last couple of years have been good to Indians. The band got signed to legendary record label 4AD, sent out the debut album “Somewhere Else” in the beginning of this year and has been touring the world almost constantly ever since.
We are super excited that Indians returns for FROST 2014, where we, in collaboration with Copenhagen Phil, present ’60 Minutes of Indians’ in Konservatoriets Koncertsal (former Radiohuset) 6 February and again the day after at Kulturværftet in Helsingør. The focus is on exploring the new ‘indie-classical’-genre and bridge the gap between classical and rhythmical music, when Indians’ spherical hymns will be performed in new arrangements fitted to the 70 men large symphony orchestra.
For support, we have invited Danish electronic musician Rumpistol, who will play along with a smaller part of the symphony orchestra, and before and after the concerts, Danish radio host Mads Axelsen will play a DJ-set in the foyer.
